Elevating the Potential of all Learners

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt produces curricula and content for students around the world.

The Work

I was contracted to research and write a story entitled The Science of Apollo, an engaging overview of inventions spurred by the science developed for NASA’s moon missions. The story was part of their Interactive Reader for Grades 4 to 7, a textbook currently used by public schools across the United States.

I was contracted to research and write an argument at the Grade 6 reading level in support of Selfies using both flawed and accurate reasoning for a story entitled More than Words: Say it with a Selfie. The story was part of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Into Literature program to teach logic and reasoning and currently used by schools across the United States.

Results & Impact

50 million students in 150 countries use HMH’s research-backed learning programs and 90 per cent of United States K–12 schools use HMH core, intervention, and supplemental programs.
